DAVID WILLETTS TO SPEAK AT GOVERNANCE CONFERENCE
The Leadership Foundation is pleased to announce that the Right Honourable David Willetts MP, Minister for Universities and Science, will be the keynote speaker at our conference: Higher Education Governance In A New Political Climate, Thursday 7 October 2010. His contribution on Challenges and Opportunities for Higher Education Governance will be followed by responses from a higher education panel.
The new political climate brings with it both opportunities and challenges for the Higher Education sector. Governors will need to prepare for this and understand their role in ensuring their institutions make informed decisions in the future.
This conference will ensure that governors are aware of the impact of the new political climate and have a chance to think through the questions which they may be asking of their institutions to ensure they are better informed when considering the direction of their institution. It will also provide governors with the means in which a collective voice from the sector may be raised. The governors’ issues raised by this conference are a shared responsibility between the governing body and the executive leadership.
