Studies have highlighted the crucial importance of leaders in supporting change as regards equality and diversity. This has never been more important given the increasing diversity of students entering UK higher education and the growing internationalisation of the higher education workforce. The Leadership Foundation is aware of the persistent lack of diversity in the senior ranks of UK higher education, even though people of all backgrounds are encouraged to take up its programmes.
Equality and diversity have been central to the objectives of the Leadership Foundation since it was established in 2004. These web pages aim to give an overview of our work in this area and to be a key source of information on leadership and diversity in higher education.
