Enabling Equality: Furthering disability equality for staff in higher education

A joint research project commissioned by the Equality Challenge Unit and Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, exploring the experiences of disabled staff working in and employed by higher education (HE) institutions in the UK, identifying effective practices to develop more inclusive working environments for disabled staff to improve career development and equal opportunities.

Diversity Resource Project

The Leadership Foundation's Diversity Advisory Forum has a strong desire to give pragmatic support to leaders and practitioners in diversity. Preliminary research suggested that many training and learning resource materials existed but that they are not always shared across the higher education sector. As a result the Leadership Foundation commissioned the Diversity Resources Project, with the aim of compiling the numerous diversity resources used in the sector.

The project has been led by Knowledge Perspectives, a social research company experienced in equality and diversity issues. The resulting report which was written by its director Dr Diane Bebbington has been compiled as a reference directory and we hope that you will find it to be an easy to resource.

The report can be accessed as a pdf file, or printed copies are available on request by emailing Susie Norton or by calling 020 7849 6905
