What is Executive Coaching and how can it benefit you?

The Leadership Foundation coaching service is constantly evolving and improving its practice and its availability to the most senior leaders in the sector.

We created the Leadership Coaching Service, dedicated to Higher Education, about three years ago and it has grown quite substantially since then. We have brought together and developed a group of very experienced coaches, all of whom have worked in a substantial range of institutions in the sector.

We are increasingly asked to offer this service to those in the most senior positions, and we have recently repositioned the service to offer at that level. This builds on our experience of coaching on the Top Management Programme and our practice of confidential advice and support to Vice-Chancellors.

In our experience, our coaching can offer senior leaders:

• Private and confidential support to work through difficult challenges and transitions
• Feedback about leadership approach and impact
• An opportunity to think through your plans for the future of the institution (or your part of it)
• Opportunity to reflect on your leadership style
• A safe space for senior leaders to be reflective and bounce ideas
• Support in their performance management of others
• A supportive context for their engagement with governing bodies

As we are sure you would realise, it is vital that you feel absolutely comfortable in the coaching relationship. We spend a lot of time on the matching process, and from time to time offer opportunites of 'taster' sessions to try it out first.
