Our Small Development Project scheme is a key benefit for Leadership Foundation members and was first launched in 2004, shortly after the Leadership Foundation was created. We have invested in well over 100 projects since then with a focus on a range of leadership, management and governance issues and providing case studies, toolkits, resources and development opportunities of benefit to our members, partner organisations and the sector as a whole. We typically launch a call for proposals (open to member institutions only) in late Autumn/Winter annually, with a view to selecting and awarding successful projects in the following Spring, with an expectation of completion within 12 months. Funding up to £10,000 is usually available. Occasionally we will invite proposals on a particular theme where we feel there is a particular gap in knowledge or practice. Small Development Projects are part of the Research & Innovation strand of our Strategy. Interim reports are made available alongside project summaries and, on completion, the reports and resources produced (see projects by year, below).
