How Much Involvement Should I Have in Institutional Life?

Most governors do not just attend board meetings, and have at least some other involvement in institutional life. Typically this starts with a governor's induction, and may also include opportunities to talk to academics or to visit particular academic or administrative departments. Displays, exhibitions and other campus events are often available to governors, and many board meetings are preceded or followed by lunch or supper, which enables members to meet more informally.
