The report Patterns of Further and Higher Education in Colleges and Universities in England may also be helpful. Scottish Funding Council (SFC) publishes 7 on line leaflets explaining how the Council will work with institutions through to 2012. Institutional Diversity in UK Higher Education by Brian Ramsden gives an interesting review of various developments over a 16 year period including data on students and institutional mergers.
