Further Cuts in 2010-11 HE Budget

The new coalition government has announced that it will further reduce the 2010-11 budget for higher education in England by £200m.. The University Modernisation Fund, set out in March by the previous government, is to be reduced by £118m. with the number of additional places, originally announced as 20,000 now cut by half. A further £82m. of 'efficiency savings' must also be made. And on 22 June 2010 there will be an emergency Budget.
