In the light of the challenging external environment, and the changing funding arrangements, HEFCE plans to consult the Committee of University Chairs (CUC) and the GuildHE Governance Network about the principles underlying its relationships with governing bodies. The aim is to develop a shared understanding with a view to enhancing governance in the new higher education environment that is emerging.
