Browne Reports on HE Funding
The Independent Review of Higher Education Funding and Student Finance, chaired by Lord Browne of Madingly, has published its report,
Securing a Sustainable Future for Higher Education in England. Its main proposals include removing the current cap on tuition fees for home students (thereby permitting institutions to set their fees at the market rate) and treating part-time students in the same way as full-time students. Graduate repayments would begin when earnings reach £21k per year, compared with £15k at present.
