International

Internationalisation is of central importance to higher education today, as the impact and implications of globalisation spreads into all aspects of institutions’ core businesses of teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange. Many institutions are in the process of developing or extending their international strategies to reflect this changing context in ways that seek to integrate the previously separate territories of education, research and business/community links - leveraging international opportunities wherever possible.

The Leadership Foundation, through its research and development activities and its range of programmes, aims to assist institutions to realise their internationalisation agendas, both through its work in the UK and its work with overseas higher education institutions and systems.

Our approach

The Leadership Foundation approaches internationalisation from two perspectives

• The perspective of universities outside the UK wishing to develop their leadership capacity and capability to operate internationally;

• The perspective of UK universities seeking to internationalise.

We aim to undertake internationalisation activities in a way that delivers mutual benefits.

The Leadership Foundation's international activity is both responsive to requests from agencies and pro-active, based on the Leadership Foundation's mission and objectives

For more information about international activities please contact David Lock, Director Of International and UK Projects or Nicola Longley, International Projects
