International Associates

The outcome of two surveys (in 2004 and updated in 2008) of UK higher education leaders’ views on key leadership issues identified ‘internationalisation’ as one of the key challenges facing higher education. The Leadership Foundation has responded to this by introducing Internationalisation as a cross-cutting theme in its programmes and is now seeking to expand its international activities to develop further this theme and its value to UK higher education.

The Leadership Foundation has or is currently engaged in delivering or exploring opportunities in China, Pakistan, India, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Malaysia, Iraq, America and Europe.

To develop these opportunities in a way that also brings benefits for UK HEIs the Leadership Foundation engages International Associates who are able to work effectively on behalf of the Leadership Foundation on international programmes and projects.

Who might be interested in becoming a Leadership Foundation International Associate?

Typically senior academic and service managers, such as DVCs, PVCs, deans, registrars and directors of services who might be interested in working on a consultancy basis for the Leadership Foundation in an international capacity. In addition, staff who work as country or regional specialists, have national experience of facilitating international activities or who have QAA auditing experience overseas may also be interested. Suitably qualified and experienced staff of HEIs physically located overseas may also find the opportunity of working with institutions in the UK of interest.

David Lock, Director of International Projects, would be pleased to hear from you if you require further information at this stage and would be pleased to receive expressions of interest.
