International Modules on Existing UK Programmes
The
Top Management Programme (TMP) includes a week long international module as an integral part of the programme.
This residential week covers issues associated with trends in Government policy in the UK and also internationally.
The rationale for the international module:
- Growing internationalisation of HEIs
- Internationalisation cuts across all aspects of the Leadership Foundation’s activities (teaching, learning, research) and other functional areas (HR, finance, marketing, governance)
- Internationalisation is also a key part of countries’ strategies for development (economic, social, political) and UK is a often a key partner.
The aims of the international module are:
- To enable UK senior managers to explore the economic and social strategies of a key region, i.e. of strategic importance to the UK
- To highlight the role that international HEIs can and do play in meeting a country/ region’s strategic objectives
- To draw attention to and derive lessons for UK HEI leadership and management – from particular features of a country/region’s strategy, i.e. social transformation, economic development and links to business, institutional differentiation of mission, etc.
So far participants have visited one of the following international destinations:
- Abu Dhabi
- Brussels
- Dubai
- Qatar
- Washington
- Denmark
