Agile leadership is critical in the current climate. Reacting quickly and decisively to issues as they arise is key. We can help you and your team rise to the challenge with three programmes designed to support development at all leadership levels. These core programmes have been redesigned for 2011-12 to make them shorter and sharper, meaning less time out of office and lower costs, but still providing excellence.
Senior Strategic Leadership (SSL) will engage and assist those charged with ensuring the strategy and change agenda at the corporate level are delivered through others, and for those who set the tone for leadership within the institution. SSL 14, starting October 2011, includes a real-time Strategic Challenge activity based in and around an NHS Trust in North Yorkshire and a workshop session on Managing Brand Strategy for Competitive Advantage.
Preparing for Senior Strategic Leadership (PSSL) will help those facing the challenges of the corporate leadership planning and change agenda. PSSL 15, starting November 2011, includes a challenge workshop on Higher Education in 2020, with leading thinkers from PA Consulting, Universities UK and the Higher Education Academy Speakers include David Sweeney, Director Research, Innovation & Skills at Hefce and Sheila Gupta, Director of HR at the University of Edinburgh.
Head of Department (HoD) will assist those facing the operational challenges associated with the leadership of academic, research and support teams. The programme draws on recent research by the Leadership Foundation on the work of heads of department in order to focus on individualised consideration – paying attention to followers’ needs, recognising personal differences and encouraging potential. HoD 13, starting November 2011, includes a 360° diagnostic and practical exercises, tools and techniques related to the strategic challenges facing higher education institutions.
