Launched in the 2005/6 academic year, the Head of Department (HOD) programme is about to reach its fourth run. The programme is for individuals who are new to the operational challenges of leading and managing a key team within an HEI.
Delivered in two residential modules, the programme offers participants a unique external learning opportunity in a safe and supporting environment. It exposes them to a wide pool of experience through their interaction with a diverse peer group from HEIs from around the UK. Key components include, developing self awareness, strategic planning insights, team development and performance management techniques. Special features of the programme include personal diagnostics, facilitated action learning and exploring the inspirational leadership journey of Shakespeare’s Henry V.
