Two of the most economically vibrant cities in the world will provide the base for UK delegates to explore global higher education in America and China. Delegates will meet like-minded peers from the UK and other parts of the world to discuss how they are dealing with global economic, social and political challenges.
The International Leadership Development Programme visit to Hong Kong will take place on 25 – 29 March 2012. This follows on the success of an initial programme this year. As one of the leading financial centres in the world, and also architecturally the world’s most vertical city, Hong Kong’s political and economic proximity to mainland China means that it is a critical player in global higher education. Participants will examine how closer relationships are developing through higher education between Hong Kong and the mainland and will explore new possibilities for trans-national education and research partnerships.
The Chicago visit will run from 13 - 17 May 2012. America’s second city has been a major industrial and financial hub since the 19th century. Today it is a world city that is home to almost 10 million people and over 30 higher education institutions. The Leadership Foundation’s first visit to the mid-West will focus on HE and business partnerships. Visit the programme website for more information: ILDP
