baseline study of leadership development in higher education: consultation
Baseline study of Leadership Development in Higher Education: Consultation
We have recently received the final draft of the Baseline Survey of Leadership Development in the Higher Education sector commissioned from a team at Lancaster University in 2008 Details of the findings are now available in the publications section of the website and we are seeking feedback because the survey was carried out in the spring and early summer of 2008, before the full extent of the economic downturn was known.
We are keen to know more about the following:
- Does the survey data represent the current position of your institution in terms of leadership development (we would be interested in similarities, differences and other comments)?
- Is the position of leadership development and investment in leadership development in your institution changing (or not) from that represented by the survey findings, because of current economic circumstances, and if so how?
- Do you envisage significant changes to leadership and organisational development within your own institution over the next two years? For example, we would be interested in changes in terms of investment, the type of development you would prioritise, and the overall priority of leadership development in relation to your institutional strategy.
Your feedback will help us in our advice to HEIs and in tailoring our services to institutional needs.
Feedback and comments on the survey and these questions by 22 September 2009 to the Leadership Foundation's Research Manager, Helen Goreham.
