David MacLeod, co-author of ‘The Extra Mile: How to Engage Your People to Win’ and the co-author of the report to the UK Government ‘Engaging for Success: enhancing performance through employee engagement’, will lead on employee engagement at Leading Successful Engagement: Gaining the support of employees and external influencers, taking place Wednesday 20 April 2011, Edinburgh. David will offer his insights and lessons on the topic of how to engage our people for success, by exploring what employee engagement is and why it matters. He will spend the majority of his time talking about how successful organisations engage their people to enhance performance.
Joanna Buggy and Matthew Revett, senior managers of Grayling Scotland, part of the world’s second largest independent global Public Relations, Public Affairs, Investor Relations and Events consultancy in the world will focus on influencing external stakeholders. Grayling regularly hold training events for organisations across the UK on both media and public affairs. They are well versed in the HE sector and in engaging with political stakeholders. The session will deal with stakeholder mapping, identifying and using a range of communication channels to reach influencers with examples of good practice drawn from both the UK and worldwide and finish with a session on working with local politicians along with tactics for engaging with them.
