Small Development Projects: Call for Proposals

We are delighted to announce that the call for proposals for the 2012 Small Development Projects (SDP) is now open. Higher education institutions that are members of the Leadership Foundation (or groups of members) are invited to bid for up to £10,000. These projects are part of the Leadership Foundation’s commitment to investing in innovation in higher education. The SDP’s principles are to support innovative projects that would not normally attract funding from within an institution.

The total project funding available is £100,000. The 2012 projects will bring the total number of SDPs supported since 2004 to almost 80.

Professor Bob Thackwray, Director of Membership and Networks, commenting on the scheme, said: "at a time when funding across the sector is increasingly constrained, a small investment can make a considerable difference."

He describes previous projects as "having punched above their weight in terms of impact" and is anticipating similarly high quality projects that will be of benefit to the sector.

The closing date for Small Development Project 2012 proposals is Monday 14 November 2011. If you would like to discuss your proposal informally in the first instance please contact Stuart Hunt, SDP Co-ordinator, or Bob Thackwray.
