Time: 14.00 - 15.00
Venue: Online
This one hour webinar will showcase the new Strategic Information and Communications Technology (S- ICT ) toolkit being launched by the LF/JISC InfoNet to coincide with this webinar. The webinar will highlight the key features of the newly developed toolkit, a variety of deployment models and likely obstacles and possible solutions. Participants will also learn from institutions that have already used the toolkit to initiate real world transformational projects.
The use of ICT in supporting the delivery of core business goals has become increasingly important to senior managers; yet research by the University of Nottingham and its partners indicates that institutions differ widely in the maturity of their strategic use of ICT. This webinar will emphasise the importance of constant engagement between senior IS professionals and their institutions' senior management teams.
Who is the toolkit for?
PVCs, Deans, Heads of school, Registrars, Chief information officers, Heads of planning units, Directors of IS & IT, Senior IS professionals, Heads of teaching and learning functions, Senior e-learning staff, anyone responsible for planning ICT services, anyone responsible for ICT infrastructure.
The LF are running an Essential Skill programme, How Strategically does your Team Manage Information and Technology? to introduce the new toolkit. We will be demonstrating elements of the toolkit in some of its key programmes, such as Preparing for Senior Strategic Leadership and the Future Leaders Programme; providing real guidance for HE leaders, showing them how to make powerful and influential use of information to aid strategic decision making; and providing a structured but flexible process for discussing strategic ICT maturity, creating a bridge for communications between information specialists and senior managers with more generic responsibilities.
