Following on from the announcement of the Higher Education Academy about her appointment as one of their Deputy Chief Executives, the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (LF) confirms that Professor Stephanie Marshall, Director of Programmes, will be leaving in January 2012. Professor Marshall has been with the Leadership Foundation from the inception of the organisation, nearly 8 years ago.
Professor Marshall has directed and grown the Leadership Foundation’s development portfolio, from just one programme to an extensive suite of leadership development activities, that now includes courses geared to all stages of university leadership careers; profession-based development programmes, and one-day essential skills events. She has built and led a team of in-house and external training and development specialists, and has also been responsible for the LF’s Governor Development Programme.
Professor Marshall’s creation of the LF Fellowships won overwhelming support from across the sector, and enabled her to go on to support and advise Hefce’s team in managing the LGM fund and projects. The Leadership Foundation has become well known for its HE Leadership Summits and its annual LGM conference with Hefce, and Professor Marshall was a key innovator in these high profile higher education gatherings. She leaves the Leadership Foundation having developed the groundwork for our new Professional Recognition Scheme, which will be launched in 2012.
Ewart Wooldridge CBE, Chief Executive of the LF said: ‘We shall be enormously sad to see Stephanie go. Her positive energy and enthusiasm has been an inspiration to us all at the Leadership Foundation. She is a delightful, professional, and totally supportive colleague.’
The Leadership Foundation will immediately begin the recruitment process to appoint Professor Marshall’s successor. Information will appear in the vacancies section of the Leadership Foundation website shortly. www.lfhe.ac.uk
