Strategic Staff Development project launched

The outputs from the Staff Development Forum’s Strategic Staff Development project were formally launched this week at an event introduced by Leadership Foundation Chief Executive Ewart Wooldridge and chaired by Professor Mike Pittilo, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of The Robert Gordon University.

The outputs were presented by the project leaders: Professor Paul Blackmore, Coventry University for theme 1 on Promoting the strategic positioning and alignment of staff development in institutions; Dr Andy Wilson, Loughborough University for theme 2 on Defining and supporting the strategic leadership role; and Dr Paddy Anstey, University of East Anglia for theme 3 on Defining and supporting the staff development practitioner role.

Also present were other officers of the Staff Development Forum and members of the project steering committee, as well as invited senior representatives from the HEA, HEFCE, SEDA, and UPA. The Strategic Staff Development project was funded by the Leadership Foundation and has delivered valuable outcomes that will enable staff development to make a full contribution to the strategic goals of higher education institutions.
