The Leadership Foundation is pleased to announce news of the international speakers for our annual summit entitled Leading Internationalisation: raising our game (10 February 2011), which will focus on developing international strategies beyond immediate economic concerns in order to gain the long term benefits that are more reciprocal and sustainable.
John Edward Sexton is President of New York University and the Benjamin Butler Professor of Law at the NYU School of Law. From 1988 to 2002, he served as Dean of the NYU School of Law, which during his deanship became one of the top five law schools in the country according to U.S. News and World Report. From 2003 to 2007, he was the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and he has served as chair of the Federal Reserve System's Council of Chairs.
He will be in conversation, via videolink, with Martin Bean, Vice-chancellor of the Open University, who gave such a rousing opening presentation at our 2010 Leadership Summit. John and Martin will be present contrasting views on International perspectives. The session will be hosted by Caroline van Den Brul MBE, a former BBC producer of programmes such as QED, Horizon and Tomorrow’s World.
Joining us from India will be Professor Surajan Das, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calcutta, India and a member, Indian Council of Historical Research, Government of India. He will be leading a discussion on Reciprocal community engagement, as well as leading our workshop Building Sustainable International Partnerships in Higher Education: key features of success, which will take place on the 11 February 2011.
