The Succession Management Website

Increasing the size of the pool of future leaders is a critical challenge facing higher education. But for a variety of reasons, leadership roles and leadership careers have not proved especially attractive to people who enter academia for other reasons. The Leadership Foundation is working with a group of staff developers to look at how to build a succession pipeline that increases the flow of leaders into key institutional roles.

The first important project out of the groups work has been the Leadership Development Centres. Click on the link to find out more.

'The material on this web site has been developed by a small group of staff developers working mainly in research intensive universities. The purpose of the site is to prompt debate and stimulate discussion about succession management in Higher Education Institutions and facilitate the sharing resources.

The case studies and materials presented here are intended as examples only and not as 'exemplars'.

If you want to learn more about the case studies featured on this site you are welcome to contact individual contributors directly.
