Research
The Leadership Foundation Research Agenda comprises a focused programme of applied research to support leadership and leadership development in higher education. The initial research agenda was developed in 2004/5 to cover the following topics:
- The future context and shape of leadership, governance and management (LGM) in UK higher education
- Career patterns and selection processes for becoming a leader in higher education
- LGM in practice; evolving roles and specific portfolios (eg leadership for quality teaching; leading research, leading strategic partnerships)
- Evaluation and impact of leadership development
The process of commissioning research, identifying partners and monitoring research outputs is overseen by our Research Advisory Panel, comprising:
- Professor Sir Peter Scott, Vice-Chancellor, Kingston University (Chair)
- Professor Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor, Oxford Brookes University
- Professor Sir Drummond Bone, Retired Vice-Chancellor, University of Liverpool
- Rebecca Bunting, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Portsmouth.
- Professor David Collinson, Professor of Leadership and Organisation, Lancaster University Management School
- Professor David Altmann, Vice-President of Research, Centre for Creative Leadership, USA
