Research

The Leadership Foundation Research Agenda comprises a focused programme of applied research to support leadership and leadership development in higher education. The initial research agenda was developed in 2004/5 to cover the following topics:

The future context and shape of leadership, governance and management (LGM) in UK higher education
Career patterns and selection processes for becoming a leader in higher education
LGM in practice; evolving roles and specific portfolios (eg leadership for quality teaching; leading research, leading strategic partnerships)
Evaluation and impact of leadership development

The process of commissioning research, identifying partners and monitoring research outputs is overseen by our Research Advisory Panel, comprising:
