In developing their policy towards the Leadership Foundation the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) have formally assessed its impact on the higher education sector in terms of regulatory burden, equality and diversity, and sustainable development during the early years of its operation.

Sector Impact Assessment of the LF (2009-10)
The Leadership Foundation for Higher Education has received an extremely positive endorsement from the higher education sector in its second formal evaluation which took place after six years of operation. The evaluation report states that the Leadership Foundation is seen by the higher education sector as a valuable asset that gives major support to its initiatives to improve leadership, governance and management. The evaluation was carried out by an independent firm of consultants, Blue Alumni.
