We are delighted to welcome Kirsty Williams AM, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Education, who will be opening the Leadership Foundation’s Annual Wales Conference.
Also joining Kirsty will be four high profile contributors who will be exploring leading change in detail.
Fiona Roberts will be discussing ‘A pragmatist’s guide to leading change.’ Director at Cox Roberts Consulting, former HR director at Volkswagen (UK) and the 2014 HR director of the year at the Personnel Today Awards, Fiona will draw on extensive experience of leading change in complex environments.
Dr Fiona Beddoes-Jones will examine ‘A lifetime of change: perspectives from neuro psychology and leading volunteers: not everything has to change for everything to change’. Fiona is a chartered psychologist and author of a number of psychometric tools including the UK’s only 360-degree Authentic Leadership development tool.
Bringing to life the tools needed to plan for what the future holds, a participative Futurology workshop will be led by Vijaya Nath, director of leadership development at the Leadership Foundation. Delegates will explore the changes, challenges and responses to the Welsh HE sector over 10 to 20 years’ time.
Gary Reed, associate director of Wales at the Leadership Foundation, commented: “Now more than ever it is critical for us to share these insights to enable us to deal with the challenges facing the sector. We are delighted to have such an excellent line-up of speakers to share their expertise with us during this rare opportunity for Welsh HE leadership to come together.”
The Annual Wales Conference brings together senior leaders from across the Welsh higher education institutions and representatives from Hefcw to discuss and share approaches to the leadership challenges of the current sector environment.
The 2017 Conference will examine ‘Leading Change in Wales: the Agile University’. Delegates will explore what it means to be agile, and how to lead effective change to successfully navigate evolving global challenges in the higher education sector.
The 2017 Conference is the fifth instalment of this popular event, bringing Welsh higher education leaders together to share insights, approaches and network with peers.
