Change academy is an innovative approach to institutional problem solving and change that brings together teams of people from across the organisation to tackle real life leadership challenges. We can help institutions plan and deliver bespoke change academies and other change programmes as part of our consultancy offer.
Since change academy was first offered in 2004, more than 90 institutional teams - over 700 individuals - have taken part, the majority from the UK, but more recently with international participation. Projects have covered diverse issues such as student induction and transition; embedding a culture of learning and teaching excellence, and putting assessment at the heart of learning. Whatever the project, the change academy programme provides the techniques and support system to enable institutions to be better able to create successful plans that lead to the desired change outcome.
Change academy is now available only as a bespoke programme of support that is completely tailored to your requirements.

The Change Academy process could be for you if:
The Change Academy process can be tailored for delivery within your institution depending on your specific objectives, resources and timescales (see our case studies for examples) but will always include elements designed to:
The Change Academy process is not training in project management nor a recipe for ‘how to do change’; it is a creative, potentially challenging and disruptive, but supported set of activities to improve cross-institutional working and understanding and build individual, team and organisational capacity for change.
Here’s what some of our previous participants have said about the process:
The open and honest debate changed the nature of our initiative for the better
The techniques are simple but powerful, and I can see ways of using them with my students as well as staff
Be prepared to be challenged and for your initiative to morph into something else. It’s a great way to make a step change
It’s been so powerful, we’re ‘walking in each others’ shoes’ and learning from that
The whole process has been really useful; we’ve expanded our ideas so much ... We’d never have got this far on our own
There’s been a lot of myth-busting in discussions, it’s great
