Q1. What is MyLF?

MyLF allows all our website users, both LF members and non-members, to create a personal account. Once registered the information provided is used to prefill fields when online booking, to let the user see details of their LF contact, and to keep our records up-to-date. MyLF will allow you to:

  • Update your personal information, including changes of institution or job title.
  • See details of your Leadership Foundation engagement, including courses and events that you have attended or are booked to attend and, if it applies, your current LF Fellowship status.
  • Shows which areas of leadership you are interested in.

In this way we hope your interaction with the Leadership Foundation will become more personalised. To find out more about MyLF contact Susie Norton, Marketing and Communications Manager

Q2. I don’t know if I have a MyLF identity, how do I find out?

If you have engaged with the Leadership Foundation previously a MyLF identity (a 6 digit number) will have been pre-allocated to you. Your MyLF identity is often included at the bottom of emails from the Leadership Foundation or you can contact info@advance-he.ac.uk to get a reminder. If you haven’t previously engaged with us you will need to register at MyLF Signup

Q3. I don’t know or can’t remember my password, how do I find out what it is?

Take the forgotten password option and enter your MyLF identity (a 6 digit number). A temporary password will be emailed to you – this might take 10-15 minutes (often this is quicker) please bear with us. Once you are logged-in the website will ask you to change your password to something more memorable. You will also have the option to have the website remember all your login details. Note that your device may also prompt you to let it remember your password.

Q4. I have received my password email but still can't access MyLF?

This could be one of 3 problems:

  1. You are trying to use copy/paste functionality. MyLF will often not recognise MyLF identities or passwords that are pasted, depending on the browser used. Try typing the information instead.
  2. You have received more than one welcome/password email and you are not using the right combination of email and password. Try the other password.
  3. The password is case sensitive – try again matching the password as per the email.

If none of these applies or works please try using the forgotten MyLF code option again. This will send you a new temporary password and, once you are logged-in, the website will ask you to change your password to something more memorable. You will then have the option to have the website remember all your login details. If the password is still a problem please contact info@advance-he.ac.uk

Q5. I have requested a password email but nothing has arrived?

The website and our data repository have to ‘talk’ to each other and this might be delayed due to an internet or server issue, please wait 30 minutes. If your email has still not arrived please try using the forgotten password option again. If the password is still a problem please contact Susie Norton, Marketing and Communications Manager

Q6. I’ve logged into MyLF but it still won’t let me download the document I wanted?

Our research, resources and publications are part of the LF membership and engagement benefits. Access to these resources varies but will only be available to institutions/people that fall into one of the following categories:

  • Institution is a current member of the Leadership Foundation
  • You are an alumni of a senior leadership programme:
    • Top Management Programme
    • Senior Strategic Leadership/Senior Leadership Programme
    • Preparing for Senior Strategic Leadership
    • Leading Departments
    • Head of Department
    • Future Leaders Programme
  • You are an Aurora participant , mentor or champion
  • You are a Fellow of the Leadership Foundation
  • You are a Leadership Foundation associate/coach/regional coordinator

Some resources are only available to participants on a particular programme, such as Aurora.

Q7. I've logged into MyLF but all of my events from when I worked at a different Institution are missing, why aren’t they showing?

You probably now have 2 records in our contact system: one for your current institution and one for your previous institution. If you contact Susie Norton, Marketing and Communications Manager, she'll be happy to sort this out for you.

Q9. What if I do not want to take up MyLF?

Don’t worry there will be no change to the contact information that we have for you. Please contact info@advance-he.ac.uk if you wish to update any of your personal information. If you want to book on a programme or event you can download the appropriate booking form to complete and return to the programme administrator.

Q10. I am responsible for booking a number of people onto Leadership Foundation programmes. How do I find out what their MyLF identities are?

MyLF is designed to support people who are responsible in this way, such as PA’s who work for more than one member of staff or a registrar responsible for the institution’s governors. Provided all the people you require information on have been registered using your email address you can take the forgotten MyLF identity option. You will receive an email with a list of all the names associated with your email address and the relevant MyLF identities. You must login using the delegates identity not your own so that MyLF accesses the delegates information to prefill the booking form.
